Artful Times Challenge 45

          Artful Times challenge-45

I've only just found Artful Times Blog:)  I'm still looking at all the eye candy and blog hopping.
The challenge this month is soo easy I thought I would enter!

My Spellbinder die collection is growing beautifully. I love this set which cuts a beautifully ornate aperture.
This card was made by simple cutting and layering the die out of Ivory linen card. Add gold border freehand with a metallic pen. Mount onto folded Ivory card with pop dots for dimension. Cut Ponsettia from red card. Cut from Gold embossed card. Layer and add gold brads to centres. Add a bit of Icicle stickles to some of the petals.   I used the dreaded happy christmas peel offs because I ran out of time.

Looks very elegant for such a quick and easy card:)

Here's my card for this month's challenge.

Getting everything in perspective is a challenge for me when it comes to scene building.

They say practice makes perfect. That's my personal challenge for 2014.

Then maybe I'll be able to do some scenes on canvas for my kids next Christmas.

Ah well, I can dream, can't I?

This is my card for Claritystamp  Christmas challenge.

Barbara always makes it look so easy!  I think I managed to hide all the mistakes.
I need more practice!

Clarity stamp challenge 8

Here's my card for this months challenge over at Claritystamp.

I've been wanting to use this clarity tree stencil to make silver trees ever since I bought it. The stencil was too big to go through my Big Shot machine so I couldn't figure out how to do it easily.  So, I bought a Grand Calibur, problem sorted! The stencil was inked up with Encore silver metallic ink, then put through the Grand Calibur (debossed trees). When the ink was dry I added Cloudy Blue Adirondak to the sky with hints of colour to make a few snowy hills. Added a moon by inking up some card with Silver ink and placed it behind a punched aperture.  Stamped the verse in Stonewashed Adirondak, matted and layered using blue card to match the layered tree scene. Then added tiny gems to represent the silver fruit mentioned in the quote:)  The front of the A5 card was embossed in the Grand Calibur with a woodgrain embossing folder.
I really enjoyed making this card, it turned out even nicer than expected:)

Claritystamp challenge 7 Vintage

This is my card for this month's

I stamped Sketchy lady on a spellbinders die cut shape in Archival ink, then coloured her with Promarkers. It looked too flat, so I stamped & coloured again and used pop dots this time to give some dimension. Using the pop dots made it easy to add the surrounding colour with an applicator and Distress inks. Should have done that first! I added the same colour Distress inks to a piece of scrapbook paper, a doily and some vintage lace and added a few flowers, faux pearls, die cut swirls and teeny tiny buttons to embellish.

Clarity stamp Challenge 6

I received this birdhouse shaped key holder in the Monster Monday birthday box I bought from Paperartsy on Monday. The box arrived Thursday and I couldn't wait to start playing. Really enjoyed making this piece of wall art.

I'd like to enter this for claritystamp challenge 6 Animals.

View of the back, using clarity stamps and stencil and a die cut fence:)

Seaside scene for Claritystamp challenge

My very first Beach scene:)  Colours are a bit bright I was too heavy handed with the shading. But maybe I'll improve with practise:)

I'd like to enter this for "Oh I do like to be beside the seaside".

Claritystamp challenge 3

I made this card for my husband:)  It's our 29th wedding anniversary this month....don't know how he's put up with me all these years!
The splodgy background was a happy accident due to a blocked mini mister!

I'd like to enter the Clarity stamp challenge

Clarity Stamp Challenge 2 - In the Garden

I'd like to enter "In Bloom" for the challenge over on

In Bloom was created using a Gelli plate background. The lupin stamp is from Clarity new design club.  Lupins in the background stamped with Versafine Onyx black + coloured with Promarkers. The Lupins on 3D foam were stamped onto a Twinkling H2o's background, love the way they shimmer:)

Craft room is now totally trashed, looks like it's been vandalised so I think I'll tidy up a little bit:)

Lily stamped and paper-pieced.

I'm having fun playing with stamps and inks once again:) I've kept this card simple by stamping the image several times on various card and scrapbook paper and layering the pieces.
